- More than 2,200 people have died from the novel coronavirus, which has infected over 75,000 people, mostly in China, and spread panic around the world.
- Singapore is now the second most-affected country after China in the coronavirus outbreak. As of now, 70 people in the country have tested positive for the virus and 26 have recovered. To limit the spread of the outbreak, the government of Singapore has provided free medical masks to every household.
- South Korea reported 52 new cases of coronavirus on Friday, taking up the number of infected to 156. The country also confirmed its first death from coronavirus on Thursday.
- China reported Thursday a big drop in the number of new infections after it once again changed the method of counting patients with the virus. But today in China New cases reported totalled 1,109, up from 394 reported on yesterday.
- In Japan 23 more people were confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus in Japan on Feb. 20, bringing the total number of reported infections to 728.
